(CUC) — The Commonwealth Utilities Corporation is currently investigating a sinkhole that suddenly appeared in the vicinity of the Sadog Tasi wastewater treatment plant. The sinkhole is estimated to be around 50 feet in diameter.

At approximately 11:37 a.m., Tuesday, management was informed of the incident. All individuals have been accounted for with no injuries to report and the area has been secured.
No water or sewer services have been affected. All septic haulers have been redirected to an alternative site per proper disposal of wastewater. A backhoe was lost during the collapse, which occurred very quickly and was unable to be recovered.
CUC advises the public to refrain from entering the premises due to the immediate safety hazard. Updates will follow as soon as they become available.
