He successfully graduated after three years of intensive study in the Philippines.
Mayce, the eldest son of Merol and Lydia Ngirmeriil, received his Bachelor of Science inMarine Transportation from the Asian Institute of Maritime Studies in the Philippines.His proud parents were on hand to witness the special occasion as they celebrated the day.According to the elder Ngirmeriil, Mayce will take a year long hands-on-training on areal ship before going back to school for two more years of education.“He will depart to Guam this April,” he added.He further said that Mayce will go to Guam “to present his credentials to Matson’s office for a possible position in the shipping liner.”Mayce will now join the likes of Palauans known as captains such as former AiraiDelegate and late Hideo Tell and former Immigration Director Benito Thomas who bothgraduated from schools of maritime in the Philippines, Captain Nemecio Andrew and CaptainArvin Raymond who is probably the only Port Captain available on the island.Mayce is a former student of Maris Stella Elementary School and went on to Palau HighSchool. After graduation from high school, he continued his education at Palau CommunityCollege and then went to graduate at AIMS this year.
