Suspect allegedly committed 2 robberies for money to buy meth

HAGÅTÑA (The Guam Daily Post) — A man who allegedly carried out two robberies at gunpoint used an airsoft gun and was motivated by drugs, according to charging documents.

A day after the Guam Police Department issued a wanted flyer for Jude Ryan Quenga, he was arrested and charged in two separate robbery incidents.

A complaint filed on Saturday with the Superior Court of Guam said the first robbery occurred at Dae Hong Store in Mangilao on Nov. 5 and involved two males, one of which was identified as Quenga.

“The second male, described to be shorter and thicker than the skinny male, pointed a black handgun” at the store employee. The men made off with $100.

Officers interviewed a witness, who said he took Quenga and another male to the store on the day of the incident.

On Nov. 28, police responded to the Shell Gas Station in Yigo, where officers learned the employees were held at gunpoint.

“A male about 5’2” pointed a black and silver handgun towards her and demanded all the money inside,” the complaint states.

According to the complaint, $200 was taken.

On Saturday, police interviewed Quenga, who allegedly admitted he had asked for a ride to the store from an apartment in Mangilao.

The complaint indicates that Quenga took the money from the store to “stay high until he committed the robbery at Shell, and committed the Shell robbery because he needed more methamphetamine.”

Police were able to confirm Quenga’s identity and involvement through surveillance footage obtained from the Shell gas station.

Police also confiscated a black and silver CO2 pistol from Quenga.

Quenga was charged with two counts of second-degree robbery and theft of property.
