Suspects in aggravated assault under police manhunt

No suspects have been identified, but police are conducting investigation.

Based on the police report, at around 5: 30 in the morning on Oct. 9, Mathew Omengebar, 45 years old, Palauan, was found sprawled on the road near the main highway in Ikelau hamlet.

Omengebar has sustained multiple lacerations on his head, both his arms and hands were fractured, both legs were wounded and his cheek and eyes were swollen.

Police investigation disclosed that the suspects tied the victim’s legs with cloth and struck his head and body with hard object until Omengebar lost consciousness.

Suspects then fled away leaving the victim in the area.

A minor boy who saw the victim immediately called the police and reported the incident.

Meanwhile, three Bangladeshi nationals were reportedly injured after they were also assaulted by unidentified suspects while they were on their way home on Monday, last week.

The three male victims were identified as Mohammed A. Wahab, Ripon Miah and Alam Jahangit.

Based on the report, while the victims were walking on the way to their barracks, unknown suspects attacked and threw rocks at them in front of Joe’s Restaurant in Dngeronger, Koror State.

Victims were bleeding and had sustained injuries in the different parts of their bodies. Suspects then fled the scene immediately.

The case is still under investigation.
