Toribiong told reporters that during his state visit to Taiwan recently he has invited Ma to come to Palau.
“I invited President Ma to come here,” he said.Toribiong and his delegation was recently in Taiwan marking his first state visit after be became president.The president said during his visit the two countries, “reaffirmed its mutual commitment to support each other as friends and allies.”Ma on its part has said that Palau has always been Taiwan’s partner through its support in the international organizations.Toribiong said Ma has assured him that Taiwan will continue to support Palau economically.The president and his delegation was in Taiwan for a week.Torribong’s arrival marked Taiwan’s first visit from a head of state this year to Taiwan. The two countries have had formal diplomatic ties for 10 years.
