THE Northern Marianas Humanities Council received a $28,350 donation from Tan Holdings Corporation and the Tan Siu Lin Foundation.
Tan Holdings Corporation, which is celebrating its 50th year, donated to the council all contributions from business partners involved in the “We Will Never Forget: Field of Heroes” Month.
The company and foundation support various charitable works across the CNMI, including the Field of Heroes activities on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.
“The Humanities Council is grateful for the TSL Foundation’s partnership and the 26+ business sponsors that contributed financially to support projects that benefit veterans, first responders and their families,” said Humanities Council Executive Director Leo C. Pangelinan.
He said the funds will be used to support the council’s efforts to implement its projects.
“We will be consulting key stakeholders to identify worthwhile projects that align with our strategic goals and have the potential to increase our awareness and appreciation for the humanities and their contributions to our society,” Pangelinan said.
The check was presented to Pangelinan and Humanities Council Board Chair Dr. Bobby Cruz by TSL Foundation Executive Director Merlie Tolentino during a recent Sept. 11 commemoration ceremony honoring veterans, first responders and their families.
Among those present for the ceremony were Tan Holdings Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer Jerry Tan, Vice President for Corporate Affairs and Human Resources Catherine Attao-Toves, Vice President of Corporate Business Development Alex Sablan, and Gov. Ralph DLG Torres.
