Tokai University’s training ship visits Palau

The vessel, which docked at the Malakal Port on Monday, brought in 97 students and some of their professors led by Takumi Okada.

The visit is part of the university’s overseas educational cruise whose goal is to provide students with an opportunity to “learn the importance of cultural differences, environmental issues and cooperation by experiencing firsthand international communication through overseas cruising and living aboard a ship with their peers.

During their stay in Palau, the students and their professors visited the Belau National Museum, the Etpison Museum and the famous Rock Islands.

The vessel has departed for Papua New Guinea  and will also make stops in New Caledonia and the Federated States of Micronesia before returning to Japan.
