Tourist lost camera to a thief

The tourist reported to police that he lost his camera worth $400 on July 23 while eating at the restaurant of Palau Pacific Resort.

Patrol Division Chief Ismael Aguon also said that several other theft incidents and burglary were also reported to the police last week and over the weekend.Aguon said a store in T-Dock that had been closed for sometime was burglarized and several items were stolen.A woman also reported on Friday that someone stole a car battery from a vehicle that was parked in front of a residence in Ngerbeched.A man also reported that someone stole construction materials from Airai on Friday.A woman also police on Saturday and reported that a woman went to her residence in Airai and stole CD player and fled immediately.Aguon said police officers also responded to several assault incidents over the weekend.Aguon said police arrested 18-year-old Mac Natty Etibek for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon for assaulting a man in the head with a rock.Investigation revealed that a fight at the Meyuns Elementary School cafeteria was reported to the police on Friday night.  The suspect threw an object to the victim’s head that caused lacerations to his head.Gayton Germans, 34, was also arrested for assault and battery for hitting a man with a pipe in the arms during a fight in Meyuns on Saturday morning.Demei Siangeldep, 20, Arnel Punzalan, 46, and Esra Ngiraked, 23 were also arrested for disturbing the peace, drunk and disorderly conduct and illegal consumption of alcohol.
