The first communication — dated April 5, 2011 — detailed Bill 8-20, which was received by the Office of the Governor on March 15, 2011.
Bill 8-20 was titled, “To amend Chapter 1 of the Yap State Code concerning the State Public Service System Act, by amending Section 141 to exempt the employees and staff of the Legislature from the system, and for other purposes.” The bill became law on March 25, 2011 without the governor’s signature and is now Yap State Law 8-2.
The second communication — dated April 7, 2011 — was on Bill 8-33, titled, “To appropriate the sum of $837, 550 from the Special Revenue Fund of the State of Yap from the amended compact prior years carry over Fiscal Year 2011 one-time grant for the purpose of providing funding to fund the Yap State Public Service Corporation 25 percent matching for the O.I. Renewable Energy Project during Fiscal Year 2011, and for other purposes.”
The governor signed the measure and it is now Yap State Law 8-3.
