HAGÅTÑA (The Guam Daily Post) —
The Office of Homelessness and Poverty Prevention has secured $1.8 million to help people who still need help to recover from Typhoon Mawar, according to its director.
“This is the disaster case management program. … It’s a $1.8 million grant and this office will be to assist those residents on Guam who have remaining unmet needs from Typhoon Mawar,” OHAPP Director Rob San Agustin said during an interagency council meeting on Thursday.
A Federal Emergency Management Agency grant was awarded to OHAPP in November 2023 to provide assistance to eligible individuals.
“Those eligible will be those who are still victims from the typhoon. Not for issues that … happened before or … after the typhoon,” San Agustin said.
