(Department of Public Safety) — On Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 2:33 a.m., DPS 911 received a report of a vehicle crash by the coffee shop along Chalan Monsignor Guerrero Road in Kannat Tabla.
At about 2:38 a.m., an officer arrived and met with the 911 caller. The officer observed a red Nissan Hardbody pick-up truck resting, facing southeast in contact with a wooden power pole. The driver and passenger were unconscious.
Medics arrived at the scene and immediately transported the passenger, who was still breathing, to CHCC. The driver, a 44-year-old man with no pulse and not breathing, was also transported to the hospital, and was pronounced dead at 3:20 a.m. by Dr. Elizabeth Culp.
The crash is under further investigation.
