HAGÅTÑA (The Guam Daily Post) — WestCare Pacific Islands earned a three-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities International, based on a 2-day survey conducted Nov. 16 and 17, 2023, WPI announced recently in a press release. The three-year accreditation will extend through Dec. 31, 2026, and applies to the following programs and services:
• Rapid Rehousing and Homelessness Prevention: Supportive Services for Veteran Families
• Intensive Outpatient Treatment Programs: Uplift and Håtsa
• Outpatient Treatment Programs: Uplift, Håtsa and Ma’lak Na Ha’åni (Bright Futures)
• Prevention Programs: Thrive Coalition, Steer and Maolek Na Lina’la (Life is Good)
According to CARF, “This achievement is an indication of your organization’s dedication and commitment to improving the quality of the lives of persons served. (WestCare Pacific Islands) should take pride in achieving this high level of accreditation.” CARF added, “Its well-established network of community partners cohesively works to address service gaps and the community’s ever-changing needs. The supportive workplace environment that the organization fosters is especially evident following a recent typhoon when WestCare Pacific Islands assisted staff members and their families with essential life services. WPI’s bright and ambitious leaders have been recognized for their outstanding work and have been promoted to lead various organizational expansion efforts. Persons served expressed a high level of satisfaction with the services received from WPI and attributed their wellness and stability to the organization’s assistance.”
This achievement is dedicated to the WestCare Pacific Islands team, partner agencies and organizations, and the youth, veterans and families WPI has the privilege of serving, WPI said in the release.

CARF accreditation promotes providers’ demonstration of value and Quality Across the Lifespan® of millions of persons serviced through application of rigorous organizational and program standards organized around the ASPIRE to Excellence® continuous quality improvement framework, WPI said in the release. CARF accreditation has been the recognized benchmark of quality health and human services for more than 50 years, according to the release.
