HAGÅTÑA (The Guam Daily Post) — Angel Rose Quinata allegedly was caught red-handed attempting to gain access to a stolen vehicle.
Officers with the Guam Police Department happened to be helping with a flat tire in the area when they noticed Quinata at a vehicle which, according to a magistrate’s complaint filed in the Superior Court of Guam, was reported stolen on July 25, 2023, from a residence in Tumon.
The complaint states police at the scene “noticed a nearby red sedan where a female was standing nearby trying to gain entry with a metal rod.”
Police identified the woman as Quinata.
Officers reported the “defendant said the vehicle belonged to her friend Nathan.”
But that turned out to be untrue. GPD confirmed the vehicle’s identification number matched a Nissan Altima that was stolen last year.
“The vehicle was red now,” said the complaint, which earlier noted that the vehicle was beige when it was stolen.
Quinata’s encounter with police that day was not her first, said the complaint.
“(The officer) indicated that he stopped (the) defendant in the same vehicle a short time before she was found on the side of the road, where he confiscated her plates which read PlT3108,” the complaint stated.
Police said a search of the vehicle resulted in the confiscation of 0.4 grams of suspected cocaine, 3.89 grams of suspected methamphetamine and 0.9 grams of suspected Xanax, along with two watches and two makeshift glass pipes.
“Police documented that there was a presumptive positive for the cocaine and methamphetamine,” the complaint said.
Quinata was arrested and charged with one count of possession with intent to deliver a Schedule II controlled substance as a first-degree felony and theft by receiving as a second-degree felony.
The complaint further noted that Quinata also appears to be on release in a 2023 felony case, where she was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.
The Guam Police Department seal is seen on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at the GPD headquarters in Tiyan.
