Woman in Tamuning robbery case dead

HAGÅTÑA (The Guam Daily Post) — The woman who was shot during a robbery outside a Tamuning restaurant has died.

The location of the gunshot wound was not disclosed, however, it was reported that the injury required the woman to undergo immediate surgery following the incident on Feb. 14.

“We regret to inform the community that the victim has tragically succumbed to her injuries. The nursing supervisor at Guam Memorial Hospital has confirmed that the victim was pronounced deceased at 7:45 p.m., Feb. 16, 2024,” police said in a press release on Saturday.

Initially, the investigation into the robbery outside Thai Thai Healthy Cuisine was a joint effort between the Guam Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Section, Juvenile Investigation Section, and Special Investigations Section.

“In light of this development, the Criminal Investigation Section continues to lead the investigation into this tragic incident,” GPD said.

While GPD extended condolences to the victim’s family, the investigation is active.

“The Guam Police Department is committed to bringing those responsible for this act to justice,” the release said.

Police have identified two suspects in the case. One suspect is male, approximately 5 feet, 7 inches tall with a medium build, and he was wearing a black long-sleeved hoodie and a white ski mask at the time of the incident.

The second suspect is also a male who is taller than the other suspect. No other identifying details about the second suspect have been released.
