Woman who assaulted assistant AG yet to be charged

ASSISTANT Attorney General Keisha Blake was assaulted two weeks ago, but her assailant has yet to be charged, Variety learned from multiple law enforcement sources.

Prior to the incident, Blake, a civil division lawyer of the Office of the Attorney General, was having a drink with her boyfriend, who is also a civil division attorney, and Nanami DLG Mafnas at a Kagman residence.

Later, Mafnas allegedly opened the door of Blake’s vehicle, where the government attorney was resting, and assaulted her.

According to sources, the case was forwarded to the AG’s criminal division.

Asked for a comment about the case, Chief Prosecutor Chester Hinds declined saying his office had not yet received any information about it.

A law enforcement officer who requested anonymity told Variety: “If that was us, common folks, charges will be immediately filed against us. It seems that they are hush-hush about it. Why, because the suspect is the daughter of a senator and a former Department of Corrections commissioner?”

Mafnas is the daughter of Senate President Edith Deleon Guerrero and former Corrections Commissioner Ray Mafnas, who is also a former Department of Public Safety commissioner.
