Yano in an interview on Friday during the swearing in ceremony of new police officers and firefighters said that Orrukem is still on 15 days suspension on the grounds of misconduct as a police officer.
Yano said he will discuss Orrukem’s status with Gibbons and the Chief of Patrol Division Ismael Aguon.
“Yes I heard that he has another criminal charge and I have to discuss his status with the Minister and the Chief of Patrol and we will decide on what will be implemented on him pending the outcome of his cases,” Yano said.
“We will decide what to do with him once he finished his suspension because right now he is still on 15 days suspension,” the Director went on saying.
On the case of Tkel Yano said the Corrections Officer’s punishment has yet to come.
“We have short in manpower at the Division of Corrections so we have to ensure that it’s taken care of first then we will do the punishment for him, a disciplinary action is forthcoming,” Yano said.
Orrukem and Tkel are currently facing criminal charges for assault and battery and for escape of a prisoner.
Orrukem is facing CR 09–168, CR 09-173 and CR 09-181 for assaulting another person and for aiding and abetting grand larceny, robbery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and drunken and disorderly conducts.
Tkel is facing misconduct of public office and escape for failing to do his job when he allegedly fell asleep while on duty along with other Corrections Officer Toribiong Sakaziro.
