The first trochus season was proclaimed back in July, but since the harvest quotas were not met at that time, an extension was granted to help fulfill the quota.
The proclamation only affects the Neighboring Islands of Ulithi Atoll, Woleai Atoll, Eauripik Atoll and Feraulap Atoll. During the initial harvest period of July 11 to Aug. 11, 2011, the expected quota was not met. Extension of the harvest period was granted for Aug. 11 to 25.
