In collaboration with the Sports Management Team, the Sports Office has indicated in its statement that Yap State will be sending a team to Palau with a total of 118 Athletes including Officials and Coaches to participate in 8 sports events.
Among the Athletes, 12 will be participating in the Outrigger Paddling, 16 in Women’s Softball, 13 in Wrestling, 21 in Men’s Baseball, 12 in Women’s Volleyball, 18 in Men’s Softball, 8 in Weightlifting and 9 in Track & Field events.
The State Teams will be led by Director Larry Raigetal who has been appointed as the Chief of Mission for the State Teams while in Palau, until they return to Yap after the games in mid-August.
Members of the State Team will be departing from Yap on board a Continental Charter Flight to Palau on August 1st at 12:00 AM.Participants are encouraged to check in two hours early.The Sports Council of Yap also encourages all of the general public to gather at the airport and bring leis to show support for your Team Wa’ab.
