(ISLAND TIMES) — Philippine Airlines (PAL) is set to expand air travel between the Philippines and Palau, launching a new twice-weekly direct service that will double the current flights on the route.
Peter Polloi, Director of Palau’s Bureau of Aviation, confirmed that PAL has submitted its application to operate the Manila-Koror route, ensuring the legitimacy of the planned service.
PAL cited Palau’s proximity to the Philippines—just three hours from Manila—as a key factor in its decision to add Koror to its overseas network.
The airline will operate the service using an Airbus A321ceo, which seats 199 passengers. Flights will depart Manila at 10:15 pm on Wednesdays and Sundays, arriving in Palau at 2 am local time. Return flights will leave Palau at 3:10 am., landing in Manila at 4:55 am.
PAL is promoting the new route with introductory fares available through 18 December, offering roundtrip economy tickets for US$499 and business class for US$1,239. Travel under the promotional rate begins 29 March 2026.
Currently, Filipinos can reach Palau via weekly United Airlines flights from Manila. Nauru Airlines has also recently launched direct service from Clark, providing additional options for travellers.
PAL’s new route aims to strengthen its presence in the Pacific region and provide seamless connectivity from major Asian and Philippine cities through its hub at Ninoy Aquino International Airport. (PACNEWS)
