DURING the awards ceremony of TakeCare Saipan International 2023 on Sunday, Badminton Oceania President Loke Poh Wong presented a certificate of appreciation to the Northern Marianas Badminton Association for successfully hosting back-to-back international tournaments: Crowne Plaza Northern Marianas Open 2023 and TakeCare Saipan International 2023.
“I think the Northern Marianas Badminton Association put on two very spectacular tournaments — among the best in Oceania,” said Wong. “This is very good news for Oceania and the world of badminton for the NMI to host this level of tournament.”
Wong noted that this is the first time that NMBA has hosted an international event.
Wong also recognized and thanked Northern Marianas Sports Association President Jerry Tan and NMBA President Merlie Tolentino and her team for, among many other things, a successful turnout.
