THE CK Bears trounced the Blue Jays in only five innings,14-1, in the 2023 Tan Holdings Saipan Baseball League on Saturday at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field.
In the first inning, the Blue Jays reached third base with their first three at bat led by Alvin Takai who notched an RBI single before three outs were made.
But that was the end of the Blue Jays offense as the CK Bears bagged four runs — mostly due to their opponents’ errors — to seize the lead, 4-1.
Their lead grew larger as each batter of the CK Bears found their form and earned an RBI each to score six runs.
Down 1-10, the Blue Jays managed to stop the onslaught with three consecutive outs in the bottom of the third.
However, the CK Bears delivered four runs in the following inning. Their pitcher, Jose Lizama, then smothered the Blue Jays with strikeouts to end the game with only five innings played, 14-1.
