THE VFW IT&E Destroyers have made their way to the top of the SBA Budweiser Open 8-Ball League’s Tuesday Division after powering past 9 Eleven B.E. Skeptron, 9-4, on Tuesday at 9 Eleven Restobar.
The Destroyers were on a mission as they swiftly set the pace with a three-win sweep in the opening Singles 8-Ball game thanks to Rolly Villanueva, Jeff Garcia and Nolan Cultura.
Skeptron tried to disrupt the rhythm as the pair of Mark Ignacio and Jeof Lagmay claimed their team’s first Partners 8-Ball game. But the Destroyers retaliated by pulling another three-win sweep in the second singles game for a 6-1 lead.
The Destroyers secured the win after Villanueva and Garcia claimed their team’s seventh victory of the night, but Skeptron went down fighting by snagging three more wins before settling for defeat, 4-9.
The Destroyers are now in overall first place with a total of 177 wins.
