The Falcons’ second baseman Giovanni Mira reaches to secure the grounder as a runner rushes to first base during a 2023 Tan Holdings Saipan Baseball League game at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field.
THE Falcons remain number two in the team standings of the 2023 Tan Holdings Saipan Baseball League after collecting their sixth win by besting the CK Bears, 9-4, on Friday at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field.
The first two innings were scoreless with only one hit recorded. However, in the top of the third, the Falcons gained the upper hand. The bases quickly filled as the first at bat, JD Magofna, made his way home thanks to MJ Aldan, who earned an RBI single. JJ Lifoifoi and Aldan were then brought in by Brenen Iguel for a two-RBI single.
Despite the CK Bears’ attempt to shut down the assault with two consecutive outs, two more runs were made off passed balls while a solo run was made in the top of the fourth inning to extend the Falcons’ lead, 6-0.
The CK Bears finally broke the silence in the bottom of the sixth inning with four straight runs. Unfortunately, their play in the seventh and final inning was riddled with errors, allowing the Falcons to slip in three runs before bagging the three outs needed to secure the win, 9-4.
