FINASISU notched their fourth win in the U13 boys division of the 2022 Marianas Village Pride Basketball League by defeating Garapan, 56-47, on Sunday, Dec. 18, at the TSL Sports Complex.
Finasisu controlled the pace right from the start as Greg Teregeyo, Jairus Pangelinan, Leon Duenas and Logan Ngeskabei found the bottom of the net to score a bucket each.
Although Leon Galarse exploded on the opposite end to keep Garapan in the fight, he alone could not match the teamwork of Finasisu which was led by Abraham Saralu who delivered eight consecutive points to give his team a double-digit lead, 30-17, by halftime.
In the second half, it became a one-on-one battle between Garapan’s Galarse and Finasisu’s Duenas.
Galarse scored 23 points while Duenas came up with 16. But Finasisu’s teamwork ensured control of the possession, and Kyler Kaniyo’s triple and Liam Duenas’ bucket were enough to keep Finasisu afloat en route to victory, 56-47.
