FRANCES M. Sablan notched the February Ace of the Month title of the Saipan Golf Association on Sunday at the Kingfisher Golf Links.
Sablan had a tough time adjusting on the front nine, shooting a gross of 47. But as she transitioned into the back nine, she tightened her grip and maintained a steadier swing to improve her overall output with a gross score of 44 for a gross total of 91. With a 30 handicap, her net score was 61 which earned her the February Ace title.
In second place was Joe I. Sablan who closed the front nine with a gross of 44, but failed to stay consistent and ended with a score of 47 on the back nine for a total gross of 91. Aided by a handicap of 25, his net score was 66.
Nick C. Sablan performed well with a gross score of 41 on the front nine and 36 on the back for a total gross of 77. With a 7 handicap, his net score of 70 was good enough for third place.
A total of 10 players vied for the February title.
As for the Closest to the Pin Award, Tony Deleon Guerrero ruled on hole #6; Das Krishnan was supreme on hole #12; and Nick Sablan topped hole #15.
Nick Sablan was only the only player to make the Longest Drive list for holes #7 and #11.
The SGA 2022 March Ace of the Month Tournament is scheduled for Sunday, March 27, at the Kingfisher Golf Links. Show time is 9 a.m. and tee time is 9:30 a.m.
