GCA V remains undefeated in high school volleyball

GRACE Christian Academy’s varsity team remains undefeated in the NMIVA-PSS Girls High School Volleyball SY 22-23 after besting Agape Christian School, 21-13, 21-14,  Thursday at the Marianas High School gym.

GCA V’s experienced players excelled as usual. With Hye Jin Elliott and Katriel Saures on the frontline and Azriel Fatialofa as their “tower of power,” the team displayed dominance in the first set, 21-13.

In the second set, ACS led by Yillin Huang, Eunice Xu and Ruth Zhang tried to put up a fight, but GCA continued to deliver on the offensive end with consecutive spike finishes for another convincing victory, 21-14, to win the match.

SIS vs MCS

Saipan International School varsity bagged their fourth win of the season by outlasting Mount Carmel School varsity, 22-20, 10-21, 15-9.

It was a true test of defense as both teams went back and forth in a seesaw battle for the lead. When the dust finally settled,  SIS emerged as the victor in the first set, 22-20.

In the next set, however, MCS played aggressively to dominate SIS, 21-10.

But in the third and final set, SIS seized control and never looked back en route to a 15-9 victory.

Other matches

In the junior varsity division, GCA defeated Marianas High School 9, 23-21, 21-18, while Marianas High School JV outscored Kagman High School JV, 21-8, 21-18.
