HYUN Son Sunny has once again taken the spotlight in the CNMI Women’s Golf Association by winning her second consecutive monthly tournament on Oct. 8 at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort east course.
Sunny and Yuko Togawa started strong, clearing the front nine with precision to lead the competition with a gross of 38. However, on the back nine, Sunny lost touch of her swing and fell behind with a gross of 45.
Her total gross score was 83, but her 12 handicap gave her a total net score of 71 and the top spot in the tournament.
In second place was Togawa who shot a gross of 38 on the front nine and 41 on the back for a gross total of 79. With a 4 handicap, her net score was 75.
Coming in third was Sherlyn Jones who shot a gross of 46 and 40 for a total of 86. Her 11 handicap also gave her a net score of 75, but Togawa had the better tie-breaking score.
