JONNY’S Samurai stunned the 6JMS Thunder Darts in the finale of the SEDA Bud Light League A+ Division to win the Bud Light Cup on Wednesday at 6JMS Sports Bar.
In the opening round of the Partners Crazy Cricket match, Samurai drew first blood as Colin “Boom” Cruz and Pam “The Spam” Ybanez outshot Thunder Darts’ Jun “Dynamite” Olita and Jose “The Power” Orosco.
The Thunder Darts, however, managed to even the score thanks to the work of KJ “KrazyK” Villagomez and Russ “Mr. Pogi” Cruz.
In the Singles 501 Double In/Double Out, Samurai’s Alfred “DaMan” Manglona, Sadiri “Boy” Martin and Ybanez triumphed with precision throws to give their team a 4-2 lead.
As a team, Samurai excelled the second time around, sweeping the Partners Regular Cricket match for two more wins while splitting the next Partners 701 match to remain in the lead, 7-3.
The Thunder Darts tried to stay alive but Samurai’s Cruz and Manglona made quick work of their opponents in the Singles Regular Cricket match and earned the final two wins needed to notch the coveted championship, 9-3.
Before the championship round, Samurai eliminated the True North Mafia 2, 9-6, while the Thunder Darts triumphed over the 6JMS Pythons, 8-7.
