SCS Just Chillin’ and VFW IT&E Homeboyz will face off for the Budweiser Cup in the Thursday Division of the SBA Budweiser Open 8-Ball League after eliminating their respective opponents during the semifinal round Thursday.
The Homeboyz faced a tough opponent but they managed to pull through to defeat the 9 Eleven Rebels 2, 9-7.
The Homeboyz started the game with a bang, thanks to the teamwork of Nolan Cultura and Rogel Caruana, along with Cesar Sangalang and Jeff Garcia, who swept the opening Partners 8-Ball game for a 2-0 lead.
But the Rebels fought back with Eric Baugh and Joe Palacios splitting the Singles 8-Ball game while Arlon Buesalida and Ray Matsunaga paired up for another split in the second Partners 8-Ball game.
Down 3-5, the Rebels could only split two of the remaining three games as the Homeboyz coasted to victory, 9-7.
Just Chillin’ vs Crazy Ballers
SCS Just Chillin’ had a much easier night as they manhandled the 9 Eleven Crazy Ballers, 9-2.
The Crazy Ballers won a Partners 8-Ball game thanks to Oliver Gragasin and Joseph Achas while team mate Victor Formales notched another win in the Singles 8-Ball match,
But as soon as Just Chillin’ found their rhythm, they bagged seven consecutive wins to clinch match victory, 9-2.
