KEONE Chariton has stamped his name on the Marianas Golf Association by winning the February Ace of the Month Tournament at the Coral Ocean Golf Resort on Saturday.
Forty-five players, including nine guests, fought for the top spot, but at the end of the day, it was Chariton who took the spotlight.
He started with a decent swing, closing the front nine with a gross of 42 and then improved his odds on the back nine for a score of 37. His combined gross total was 79, but with a 16 handicap, his net score was 63
The battle for 2nd place between Isaac Aguon and Joe “Kamikaze” Camacho was another highlight of the tournament.
The two shared a net score of 66, but Isaac edged out Joe in a scorecard playoff to bag 2nd place.
In the side events, the closest to the pin winners were Don Hallmark for hole #3; Chris Groves, hole #7; Joe “Kamikaze” Camacho, hole #12; and James Benavente, hole #14. Each received a $205 cash prize.
