YUTARO Kitagawa and Shana Barman, along with other young other swimmers, topped their respective categories in the 100m, 50m and 20m distances of the Triple Crown Open Water Swim Series on Saturday at the beach near Guma Sakman.
Kitagawa and Barman reigned in the 100m race as the straight-shot course out to one buoy and back did not pose a problem for the two swimmers.
Barman was the first to return to shore clocking at 02:33.3 to finishing first overall and first in the female division while Barman was 11 seconds behind in second place overall but first in the male division with a time of 02:44.3.
Finishing second in the male division was Kanoa Owens with a time of 02:50.1 followed by Carl Licop at 03:06.6; Pedro Taitano, 03:34.7; and Gabriel Walsh, 03:50.8.
In the 50m distance, Simon Shindo and Vivian Chung bagged the top spots.
Shindo led the male division with a finish time of 01:53.4 while Xing Wang came in second, clocking 01:59.5. Seungwoo Lee was third with a time of 01:59.4.
In the female division, Chung was the first to cross the finish line at 01:28.8 followed by Catalina Frink, 01:35.3, and Sera Guerrero, 01:42.2.
In the 20m race, Leo Li and Andrea Ryu finished first in their divisions.
Ryu was the first overall with an impressive time of 01:27.7 while Li trailed behind at 01:29.6.
In third place was Daria Shatskova, clocking 01:31.6 while Fiona Yu was fourth with a time of 01:34.2, and Shuro Barman was fifth at 01:35.1.
