Lady Eagles edge Kosebakl 11-10

THE Lady Eagles pulled a late-game rally to snatch the win from Kosebakl, 11-10, Sunday in the Ladies Division of the 2022 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball League at  Dandan baseball field.

Kosebakl took charge early in the game as they fed off their opponents’ errors in the first three innings to seize the lead, 4-0.

The Lady Eagles finally snapped out of their stupor by scoring a solo run in the bottom of the fourth and four more in the fifth, highlighted by Verlyn’s three-RBI triple.

But Kosebakl was relentless, notching a total of six runs in the top of the sixth to remain in control, 10-5.

At this point, Kosebakl seemed to be on the verge of victory, but in the bottom of the seventh and final inning, the Lady Eagles found their wings.

Their first three at bat rounded the bases due to defensive errors before Kosebakl could snag the first out.

But the Lady Eagles soon loaded the bases once again, and that was when Glare Mabel connected a double to outfield, bringing in three more runs to bag the win, 11-10.

Queens vs Ladies

The Queens of Diamonds are still number one in the team standings after securing their sixth victory by demolishing the Tokahao Ladies in just four innings, 13-1.

Kiana Camacho led the Queens’ assault with a three-run homer and five RBIs.

Tokahao Ladies' centerfielder Rayna Deleon Guerrero, right, secures the out during a 2022 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball League game at the Dandan baseball field.
