Lito Pangilinan tops New Bamboo Bar Open 8-Ball tourney

LITO Pangilinan earned the spotlight in the New Bamboo Bar Open 8-Ball Tournament as he recorded a flawless 5-0 performance on Saturday at the New Bamboo Bar, Saipan Vegas.

Pangilinan found his stroke in his first game against Phil Kalen who was quickly disposed of and sent to the loser’s bracket.

In round 2, Pangilinan had a tough match but eventually overcame his opponent, Danny Miranda, and kept the streak going with his third victory, this time over Cesar Sangalang, to secure a spot in the semifinals.

Pangilinan had to put a bit more finesse in his semis match against Jesse Guerra who also had an undefeated record.

But Pangilinan had better precision and placement, sinking crucial shots en route to victory.

Pangilinan’s opponent in the finals was  Guerra who defeated Arlon Buensalida in the loser’s bracket to set up a redemption rematch.

Despite Guerra’s valiant efforts, he could not stop Pangilinan’s perfect run and had to settle for second place while Buensalida finished third.

The New Bamboo Bar Open 8-Ball Tournament is played every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday with a $10 entrance fee and the pot split accordingly among the top three winners.
