The teams will be divided into three groups, in preparation for tomorrow’s single-elimination bracket.
“The objective of the game is to eliminate all players on the other team before time runs out. Each game played will be three minutes long. Players can be eliminated several ways – being hit by the ball, having their ball caught by an opposing player or stepping out of bounds,” said coordinator Glenn Policare in an email.
The team with the best win-loss record tonight will be tomorrow’s number one seed. Each team must have a roster of 10 players, with a minimum of two females. In addition, at least one female must compete in each round.
The tournament will be using rhino-skin balls, which can be handled easily without causing harm.
“The winning team will go home with the perpetual trophy, sponsor-provided drinks, and bragging rights until the next tournament,” added Policare.
Pacific Trading Company is co-sponsoring the event with PIC.
“All participants will receive drinks from PTC as part of participating in the event. We hope everyone has a great time,” said Policare.
Tomorrow’s games will start at 2 p.m., with the awarding ceremony immediately following the championship.
