The competition is free to all players 18 years old and below. It will feature male and female divisions, and will be played in a round robin format.
“Everybody will play with and against everybody,” said event coordinator Mili Saiki.
Each player scores not as a team, but through individual points. Winners are granted 15 points after each game, and losers earn nine. During pool play, the cumulative score with each partner rotation is also a player’s total score at the end of a round.
The tournament will accommodate a maximum of 16 players in each division – 32 overall. Top eight scorers will advance to semifinals. The top four from that group will proceed to the championship round.
Game point is 15 during pool play, while game point is 21 during the semifinal and championship games. Rules may change depending on the amount of participants. Registrants do not need a partner to enter.
