Both teams started out strong and fierce in the first ten minutes of the game but the Rollers snatched the lead from right under the G-Stars’ nose after Patrick Torres connected two downtown shots followed up by a jump shot for 8 points throughout the entire quarter. The G-Stars were only able to score a total of 8 points throughout the ten minutes that was given to them.
The Rollers aviated past the G-Stars by 6 points. At the bottom of the quarter the scores were 14-8.
As the second quarter rolled in the G-Stars stepped their game up and was able to catch up to the Rollers. Calyton Kenty, Ian Benavente, and Marvin Rabauliman each attained 4 points a piece in their team effort to catch up to their foes with the help of their efficient defense line to keep the Rollers at bay.
By half time the score was tied between the two teams, 27 all.
Both teams entered the second half of the game with one common goal in mind: hand the upset part of the game to the opposing team.
The G-Stars stepped it up one more notch in their herculean attempt to defeat the Rollers. Centerman Edward Manalili deposited 8 points for the G-Stars playing side by side with teammates Kenty and Rabauliman who each scored 4 points.
By the time the siren rang to seal the third quarter shut, the G-Stars plucked the lead from the Rollers and slipped past them by 4 steady points, 46-42.
Both teams highly anticipated the last quarter of the play offs game. But the G-Stars gave it their best shot and triumphed over the Rollers.
Rabauliman connected to the basket for a whopping 13 point deficit working with his teammates to keep the Rollers at bay. It was hisroty for the Rollers as the seconds ticked by with complete silence.
The G-Stars firmly gripped the upper hand of the game with a 65-57 winning deficit. They will now move on to face the other teams that made it past the play offs.
