Team 1 and Team 6, after suffering losses in their respective first games evened their record last Sunday.
IT&E 76, Team Four 46
Bruce Berline went consistent in the three quarters while Edsel Mendoza heated up in the second quarter to help IT&E beat Team Four on Saturday.
Berline scored six points in each three quarters and added two more in the final period to finish with 20 points.
Mendoza sizzled with nine points including a three-pointer in the second quarter and kept the heat in the third firing another three to help maintain the lead.
Juan Manibusan shared actions in the first half to chip in eight points while Ernie Fernandez and Fred Acosta added six points each.
Team Eleven 61, Team Nine 53
Sonny Ebuen charged the basket for two-pointers as he invested more of his points in the second half leading Team Eleven to beat Team Nine.
Scoring only four points in the first half, Ebuen did not get enough help to catch up with Team Niners who were leaving them behind by three points.
Joel Buñag fired six markers to finish with 17 points for Team Nine while Jack Diaz delivered four of his 10 points early in the game to secure the lead.
Team Eleven however, came back as Art Trajano sizzled with eight of his 15 points in the second quarter including the three consecutive two-pointers.
Ebuen kept controlling the offense in the final period where he delivered 10 more points including a pair or penalty shots.
Ol’ Aces 77, Tasi Tours 68
Tony Lizama scattered 37 points in the court leading the Ol’ Aces to cut short Tasi Tours’ journey to first victory.
The Ol’ Aces were just a basket ahead as Tasi Tours’ Dave Camacho helped keep pace in the first quarter firing five of his 16 points.
However, Lizama’s 14 points in the second quarter widened the gap towards the half break.
Tasi Tours’ burden went heavier as Lizama fired seven points more and Felix Palacios added 18 points, and the Ol’ Aces never trailed to secure their 77-68 win.
Tony Diaz tallied 19 points as he worked harder in the third quarter to lead Tasi Tours’ losing attempt to come back.
Team Six 67, Team Seven 53
Frank Babauta scored 23 points as he Henry Manipon, Gilbert Cabadon and Tom Cantos surged in the second quarters leading Team Six to bounce back.
From a 13-point deficit, Team Six rallied in the second, then, held on their lead all the way to the ball game.
Team Seven started strong in the first quarter with Ray Takai and Tom Diaz bombarding Team Six from outside the rainbow line to establish the lead.
Takai fired nine markers in this period, while Diaz hit the basket six times for two pointers each.
Team Six put clamps on this kind of offense and curbed Team Seven’s score to 13 points in the second quarters with only Armando Anasan and Diaz on the lead.
Babauta surged to 10 points to in the fourth quarter, Manipon added four and Team Six never let loose of their chance to even the season.
Team One 91, Team Eight 57
After losing to Konflikt on Saturday, Team One turned its ire at Team Eight with 91-57 victory.
The first quarter went neck-to-neck as Team Eight took the lead halfway to quarter buzzer. However, Team One managed to grab the lead when the quarter ended.
Then, most of the Team Eight cagers apparently started losing gas giving Team One the chance to pull away and show no mercy in the second quarter.
Team One buried Team Eight a little more deeper to the ground with a series of fast break, and more fast breaks until the game ended with Team One putting up an insurmountable lead.
Konflikt 90, Team Six 64
During last Saturday’s game, Martin Moreno and Jhunar Guiab sizzled with six points apiece in the first quarter helping Konflikt to clobber Team Six.
Jorge De Guzman added nine points and the Konflikt never trailed to secure their first win.
Moreno tallied a total of 23 points while Guiab finished with 16 points.
