6 teams advance to middle school badminton playoffs

An Agape Christian School 2 player rises up for the smash return during a boys singles event in the co-ed middle school division of the PSS-NMBA Interscholastic Badminton League SY24-25 at the Ada gym.

WITH the conclusion of the round robin games at the Ada gym on Saturday, the top six co-ed middle school division teams will see action in the playoffs of the PSS-NMBA Interscholastic Badminton League SY24-25.

The teams are Agape Christian School 1 and 2, Saipan International School 1, Tanapag Middle School 1, Grace Christian Academy 1 and 2.

The top three teams are Bracket 1’s ACS 2 and SIS 1, and Bracket 2’s ACS 1, each with 19 points.

ACS 2 solidified their spot in the team standings after a strong performance against Saipan Community School. ACS 2 triumphed, 3-2, by winning the boys singles and doubles as well as the mixed doubles event.

They were, however, bested by SIS 1, which won 3-1.

In Bracket 2, ACS 1 pulled a clean sweep against SIS 2.

In solo third place is Tanapag Middle School 1 with 16 points. GCA 1 is in fourth with 13 points while GCA 2 is in fifth with 11 points.

The double elimination playoffs will begin this Saturday. TMS will battle GCA 1 on Court 1 while ACS 1 will go toe-to-toe with GCA 2 on Court 2.

 The winner on Court 1 will play against ACS 2 while the victor on court 2 will face SIS 1.
