THE Francisco M. Sablan Middle School Napu Riders earned their first win in the boys middle school division of the PSS-SBL Interscholastic Fastpitch Softball League SY24-25 on Saturday by defeating the Mount Carmel School Knights, 12-5, at the Dandan baseball field.
It was in the second inning when MCS drew first blood after Soli Maratita and Jaze San Nicolas rounded the bases thanks to Daniel Han, who earned a two-RBI double.
In the bottom half, FMS, down 0-2, was nearly silenced. However, with two outs, the Napu Riders managed to score one run before ending the inning.
The MCS Knights, for their part, continued to stay afloat, scoring three more runs while FMS could only answer with one.
In the fourth inning, the tables suddenly turned as MCS, which was leading 5-2, fell into an offensive drought while FMS capitalized on the errors of the MCS pitcher, who walked nine of the 12 batters that scored runs, as FMS seized the lead, 12-5.
MCS still had one last chance to make a comeback, but FMS swiftly collected the three outs needed to end the ball game and bag their first win of the season.
