670 GRAVITY and One N Win solidified their nos. 2 and 3 spots in the overall standings as they headed into the masters division playoffs of the Win Pacific Corporation Invitational Basketball League after beating their respective adversaries at the TSL Sports Complex on Sunday.

670 Gravity earned their fifth win by trouncing El Champions, 102-86.

In the first half, both teams seemed equally matched in point production.

670 Gravity went for the aggressive approach as Dick Tibayan, Jun Estolas, and Jerome Directo continuously attacked the rim and drew fouls along the way for a few easy buckets from the charity line.

At the other end, El Champions attacked from a distance with a bombardment of three-pointers led by Patrick Rotap with six makes to give their team the lead.

In the last five minutes of the quarter, 670 Gravity unleashed a barrage of triples courtesy of Estolas, but El Champions’ Michael Aparte and Leo Tapay maintained their lead going into halftime, 50-46.

Despite a strong start, El Champions gradually lost control in the second half.

670 Gravity adjusted their strategy on both ends of the court to cook up a comeback. Defensively, they focused on shutting down Rotap and succeeded as he was nowhere to be seen throughout most of the exchanges. Offensively, 670 Gravity’s Estolas, Directo, and Prince Sarroca drove toward the hoop while Jhen Echaure added some range with a pair of triples to cut down the deficit and eventually take the lead.

El Champions did not go down easy as Leo Tapay scored seven straight points late in the game while Rotap sank two clutch three-pointers. However, 670 Gravity used the clock to their advantage to maintain the distance and secure the win, 102-86.

One N Win was in control in the first half with Jeff Garcia scoring eight points while Bradon Talania and Art Salazar kept the fuel burning to establish a double-digit lead, 43-34.

However, the second half was Tsingtao JTM’s moment to shine.
