The second win brewed in the top of the fourth inning when Khobby Kaipat drove Jeremy Lizama in to give CNMI All-Stars the upper ground. They did not look back and headed straight to their 8-2 victory.
In the defense, Lizama struck out the side in the bottom of the fourth.
Earlier in the bottom of the second inning, Philippines drew first blood on a single hit and the lone CNMI’s fielder’s error.
CNMI failed to score in the second and third inning despite putting runners on board.
They launched the rally in the top of the fourth when Lizama doubled, Nathan Sablan drew a walk and Jose Lizama Jr. tripled in two runs to tie the game.
That was when Kaipat came off the bench and knocked in Lizama for their first lead.
Jhace Palacios on board on Philippines error and scored on Keene Deleon Guerrero‘s grounder to short Lizama walk and later scored on Ian Rogolifoi’s single.
Then Deleon Guerrero scored on another Philippines’ error and a single by Gayvan Uchau in the top of the fifth inning.
Lizama then, struck out two batters in the bottom of the fifth before he was relieved by Deleon Guerrero after exhausting his pitch count.
Deleon Guerrero started with a routine grounder to the hill and tossed it to Rogolifoi for the third out.
CNMI stretched the lead in the sixth inning. Then, Deleon Guerrero and company sealed the victory with a grounder to Jhace Palacios for an easy out and two strikeouts.
Lizama pitched six and two- third inning, gave up one hit, walked three and struck out 11.
