AGAPE Christian School on Saturday completed the opening week of the NMBA-PSS Interscholastic Badminton League SY23-24 with an undefeated record in the high school division.

ACS 2 first faced Saipan Southern High School 2 and showcased their skills by sweeping all five events —  men’s and women’s double, men’s and women’s singles, and mixed doubles —  to collect five points.

They then trounced Tinian in similar fashion to add another five points for a total of 10 team points to notch first place overall.

ACS 2 consists of Jessica Chen, Ulrica Wang, Esther Zhao, Nancy Tian, Aaron Zheng, Louis Chen, Stanley Zhang and Caleb Cui.

Marianas High School 1 is in second place of bracket 1 as they also ended the day by defeating Grace Christian Academy 2 in all five events to earn a total of 5 team points.

In third place is Tinian Jr/Sr High School with four points. They claimed the men’s and women’s singles and doubles events, but lost to GCA 2 in the mixed doubles event.

GCA 2 is in fourth place with 1 point while SSHS 2 remains winless.

Brackets 2 and 3 results will be featured in Variety’s next edition.
