The battle between PCC – Mesekiu and Ngiwal 79ers went head to head from start to finish as the lead changes every often where both teams could neither breakaway. Up until the final minutes of the fourth down the last plays of the game wherein the PCC boys were able to get well executed plays that gave them the upperhand through the help of Duffy who cashed in 25 points. On the other hand, Alladin of the 79ers finished with 16 but was surely not enough to beat the more forceful squad from the only college in the island. Final tally was 73 – 69.
Peched – Raw was just too equipped with great starters and a bench full of talents as they were able to beat the defending champion with a score ending 92 – 79. Despite a wonderful performance by Van and Techong of the Stingers who finished with 20 and 13 respectively, Peched – Raw were able to find an answer from their guard, Male Athlete of the Year Douglas Schmidt, who produced 24 markers and contributed other aspects of the game that led to the thumping of team Stingers. 2009 National Basketball League is supervised by the Palau Basketball Federation and is sponsored by Shell, Palau.
