First match, team CNMI Nationals (top contenders from the Budweiser basketball league) were pegged up against the Bombers. Mike Evans of the Bombers schooled team Nationals by bagging 6 swift points fiercely playing side by side with center man Fred Jones chipping in his four pence to lead the way in the first 4 minutes of the game.
Dan Barcinas of team Nationals was only able to slip past center man Jones twice for two off the key jump shots to ignite fierce spirit within team CNMI. By closing of the first quarter team Bombers blew the scores off the charts leading by 11 strong points, 21-10.
Ladon Buchanan, Brian Sanders scored 11 points and 6 points respectively in the opening of the second quarter with teammates Mike Evans chipping in two jump shots and center man Fred Jones bagging a lay up and dunking the ball sending the crowd into a wild frenzy in the last 3 minutes of the second quarter.
By halftime team Bombers blew a gargantuan crevice between themselves and the National team by 27 points, 48-21.
Team Nationals fought fiercely in the second half of the game but repeatedly missed possession of the ball with the Andersen’s point guard stealing possession mid way down the court.
Dan Barcinas and Dave Sablan of team Nationals repeatedly sunk down town shots in their herculean attempt to close the gap. Unfortunately for them, Mike Evans slipped past their defense more than three times to grab another 10 points for the Bombers.
Needless to say, it was history for team Nationals. Team Andersen Bombers collared in another 24 points in the last ten minutes of the game to bury the National team six feet under the ground, 91-82.
