Aon won over SMB Lite 94-91, while CIC defeated Reliance, 94-88.
Leo Factor of Aon scored a total of 15 points in the entire game, putting in six rebounds, and one assist.
Fellow Aon cager, Marlon De Dios, served as the team’s top re-bounder after taking hold of the ball 12 times under the basket.
It was a close match between Aon and SMB Lite during the first period as Aon ended with 19 points, versus SMB’s 18 points.
All throughout the match, SMB was the one trying to catch up and hoping to close in the gap.
But Aon foiled SMB’s attempts to connect to the basket several times by positioning its players tight around the painted area.
Such strategy prevented SMB from making headway in the game.
In another match, CIC was able to clinch a win over Reliance.
Coming from behind, CIC lagged behind by as much as 14 points in the first quarter, but it gradually advanced in the scoreboard, preventing a wide deficit.
By the third period, CIC was able to get close by three points behind Reliance, 66-63.
As luck and skills would have it, Dennis Vinas made a series of two-pointers, together with Jawn Joyner to pull the team away from Reliance’s clout.
