Aqua Resort, Hyatt clinch invitational hoop championship

Allowing Gyles Ruluked to fire his eight successful shots up close, Estolas did not mind staying outside the arc from where he scored 12 of his 21 total with three-point shots.

Estolas three-point spree went unstoppable as he blasted another rainbow shot in the second quarter and two more consecutive threes in the third quarter.

Fitial who did not score in the first quarter engaged himself in a shooting match with Fiesta/Grand’s Raymond Cadagat to score 10 of his 24 points. He went on with his shooting rampage in the third quarter, stretching the lead to 21 points.

Fitial also basketed his eight free throws.

James Camacho’s scoring hands were also burning with three-pointers. He hit four three-point shots to finish with 19 points.

   Hyatt 96, PIC 92

Hyatt Regency Saipan trailed behind from first quarter all the way to first three minutes of final quarter until Bernardine Aquino and Jericho Cruz had adrenaline surge power enough to boost a four-point victory over Pacific Islands Club.

Aquino fired a three-point shot in the first quarter but did not do much in that juncture while Cruz failed to score.

Hyatt continued to stay behind as PIC’s Ryan Sanciangco and Darwin Barbo both rampaged with 20 points.

PIC’s James Abuy blasted with five three-pointers for his 15 points but their consecutive errors midway to the buzzer gave Hyatt the turn overs it needed in the fourth quarter to take the lead.

Cruz’ defensive rebounds allowed past breaks that helped Hyatt come from behind, as he basketed 16 of his 27 points.
