Ayuyus crowned champions in MISO tourney

Kagman yanked an early lead from their foes and never gave up the top spot throughout the game.

The Ayuyus fabricated a 2-0 barricade against the Manta Ray arsenal in the opening inning of the game after Eric Tenorio achieves a two runners batted in single. Peter Lieto and Juan Maratita then stepped onto the plate to score for the Ayuyus as well. It was silence for the Manta Rays at the bottom of the inning.

The game was then thrown back and forth at the top of the second inning after the Kagman boys momentarily abandoned their men in the second and third bases.

The Mantas pushed forward with strong spirits in the bottom of the second inning after they loaded their bases but this challenge was then taken by KHS’ pitcher Juan Maratita who struck the following batters out breezily.

At the top of the third inning, the Ayuyus were able to load their bases up but failed to score after the following hitters were struck out by the Manta pitcher.

The bottom inning proved to be little hope for the Mantas after after Rays’ Nokki Saralu was discharged from the diamond by Kevin Villagomez.

The Ayuyus started the fourth inning with great valor to sweep the Mantas off their feet with a 5-0 record. Maratita stepped onto the plate and batted a double followed by Tenorio who obtaine a walk to load the bases for a repeat run.

Arthur Jebehn was then able to bat the score deep into center to create leeway for Peter Lieto to come home followed by an effort pushed for Frankie Lieto to reach a closer base to home that eventually scored teammate Maratita in as well.

The Manta Rays were able to create a barricade against the Ayuyus at the top of the sixth inning but the Ayuyus’ Maratita closed the bottom half in just three batters.

The Ayuyus then managed to push past the Manta Rays in the last innings of the game after star pitcher Josh Jones repteadly struck the Mantas out giving more chances to the Kagman High School’s Manta Rays. The Ayuyus are also made up of Ben Lizama, and Nick Jones.
