The Mantas cruised to a 25-17 victory in set one against the Dolphins but fell short, 26-28 by the second set.
SSHS came back by set three to defeat the Dolphins, 15-13.
The Mantas still had fuel by game two, shutting the Fins down on a 25-12 win. A series of aces however, handed MHS a 25-15 victory in the second set.
An eventual collapse in the Fins’ defense allowed the Mantas to end set three, 15-5.
Saipan Southern High School now stands with four wins and five losses and has two games to go before the league’s playoffs on November 15.
In other games, Saipan International School defeated defending champion Kagman High School, 25-21, 25-15, 15-9. The dominant Grace Christian Academy outran the MHS QTs, 25-12, 25-19, 15-9.
Six games have yet to be played this regular season, with four scheduled today and two set for Monday.
