JC Ferrer takes the lead in heat 2 of the Mini II Class during round 6 of the MRA “Moto IV” 2024 Points Race Series at the CowTown Raceway Park Sunday.
THE Marianas Racing Association on Sunday held round 6 of the “Moto IV” 2024 Points Race Series with riders not only battling each other but the weather conditions as well at the CowTown Raceway Park. The race was highlighted by the back-to-back wins of TJ Ferrer and Miyako Celis in their respective classes.
The track, usually a challenge on its own, had transformed into a muddy and tougher course. But that did not stop TJ Ferrer from putting on a show and ruling Mini II Class.
Ferrer’s consistent performance and fearless riding earned him the top spot in heat 1, but not with ease as Calix Cruz trailed closely behind.
Several hours later, clear skies and the sun benefited the riders as the heat dried the track, setting perfect conditions for some great racing.
Ferrer triumphed once more in heat 2 for a perfect 50-point finish while Cruz settled for second place with 44 points.
In the Power Puff Girls Class, Miyako Celis took first place with ease once again. Her precision and skills were evident as she maneuvered through the challenging course to score a flawless 50 points. Kesiil Camacho and Hiromi Sasamoto battled for the remaining spots with Camacho securing second place with 42 points and Hiromi recovering after not completing the first heat to finish third with 22 points.
Payton Pangelinan and Nakoa Torres went head-to-head, mud flying in all directions. Pangelinan’s superior control and speed earned him first place with a perfect score of 50 points, while Nakoa followed closely, finishing with 44 points.
In the PeeWee ATV Class, Ayven Sablan started strong but was unable to finish the first heat and did not race in the second heat.
In the Women’s Class Billie Pangelinan and Mari Alvarez were neck-and-neck throughout, each leading separate heats. Alvarez grasped the upper hand early with a first-place finish in heat 1 but Pangelinan’s performance in the second heat led to a first-place finish with both sharing 47 points.
In case of a tie, the result of heat 2 became the deciding factor in which case it was Pangelinan who was dubbed the victor while Alvarez settled for second place.
Coming in third was Sheanna Pangelinan with 40 points.
MRA said the season is nearly coming to a close with two races left. They are scheduled to take place on Aug. 4 and 25. MRA is inviting the public to come out and watch the riders battle it out to garner their final points and see who comes out victorious in the 2024 Points Race Season.
MRA would also like to thank IT&E and Monster Energy for sponsoring the series.
