HAGÅTÑA, Guam (BoG) — Bank of Guam is proud to announce the donation of a LED digital scoreboard at the University of Guam Calvo Fieldhouse. Installation of the new scoreboard was completed earlier this year.
This $90,000 investment underscores Bank of Guam’s ongoing commitment to supporting its local talent and replaces the original scoreboard donated by Bank of Guam more than 15 years ago.
The new scoreboard aims to elevate the experience for spectators, athletes, and event attendees. Boasting high-resolution LED displays, the upgraded replacement boasts all the features of a traditional scoreboard with the added capability for dynamic advertisements, athlete highlights, event announcements, and live video feeds.
“We are proud to continue our partnership with the University of Guam through this donation. Whether you’re an athlete on the court, a performer or one of the thousands of graduates that have walked the stage, we are excited to showcase the pride of our island and the spirit of our community using this upgraded scoreboard and LED display” said Joaquin P. L.G. Cook, president and chief executive officer, Bank of Guam
This new addition to the UOG Calvo Fieldhouse brings Guam sports to the next level, meeting world class standards for major competitive games and events, such as the International Basketball Federation or FIBA.
“Our local athletes continue to make their mark on the international courts. Investing in new technology like this gives us the opportunity to enhance our hometown audience experience, demonstrate our strong support for local sports, and give all our athletes at every level of their development a chance to see themselves on the big screen,” said Lesley Leon Guerrero, senior vice president and chief experience officer, Bank of Guam
Additionally, the new scoreboard also serves as a revenue-generating asset for the University of Guam. Through advertising opportunities, hosting community and school events, and attracting new fans to games and events, the scoreboard creates opportunities for increased engagement and support for UOG athletics and community initiatives.
The new scoreboard includes impressive features and capabilities including a high quality P3.9mm screen, YesTech Series fixed install panels and 80 panels of 4×5 configuration per side.
